Super Regional Odds Report

June 10, 2010

The eight super-regional series start this weekend, as teams vie for spots in the College World Series. According to my numbers, the most closely-contested matchups this weekend are in Gainesville and Tallahassee.

After a challenging regional in which Coastal Carolina barely made it through, the Chants have fallen behind both Texas and Arizona State. A couple of games don't affect our team strength ratings very much, but they were enough to knock Coastal down a few notches.

Here are the odds for the rest of the tournament:

  Team Omaha FinalTwo Champ
  Arizona State 68.5% 24.3% 13.8%
  Arkansas 31.5% 6.3% 2.6%

  Clemson 62.8% 9.4% 3.4%
  Alabama 37.2% 3.8% 1.1%

  Virginia 63.7% 19.7% 10.4%
  Oklahoma 36.3% 8.0% 3.5%

  South Carolina 30.3% 5.9% 2.5%
  Coastal Carolina 69.7% 24.0% 13.7%

  Texas 58.7% 25.5% 15.4%
  Texas Christian 41.3% 15.3% 8.4%

  Florida State 50.9% 7.1% 2.7%
  Vanderbilt 49.1% 7.7% 3.1%

  UCLA 61.6% 17.0% 8.8%
  Cal State Fullerton 38.4% 7.8% 3.4%

  Miami (FL) 47.5% 8.9% 3.5%
  Florida 52.5% 9.4% 3.7%

We'll check back next week and update the odds after the super regionals.
