Arizona Diamondbacks 2010 Draft Recap

June 16, 2010

Yeah, Barret Loux probably wasn't the best available player at #6. But he's really good, and a team committed to slot money could've done a lot worse. Loux may end up in the bullpen, but wherever he goes, he's going to miss a lot of bats.

A few rounds later, Arizona took two very different pitchers in Kevin Munson and Cody Wheeler. Munson struck out just as many guys as Loux did, though against slightly weaker competition. Wheeler didn't post the eye-popping numbers, but by virtue of going deep into the postseason with Coastal Carolina, he logged a lot of innings, showing he won't have a problem with a pro workload.

With pick 451, Mike Bolsinger finally came off the board. Jeff highlighted him a few weeks ago, ranking him as the best available senior, at least by the numbers. Part of a very talented Razorbacks squad, he excelled in a variety of roles.
