The D-Day Battle Plan

June 07, 2010

Here's where you can find us tonight during the first and supplemental rounds:

Our parents' basement. HAHAHA LOL do you get it?!11?!

Actually, here's where you can actually find us during tonight's first and supplemental rounds:

twitter: We'll tweet in real-time every college player's complete splits after every pick. We'll use both the #mlbdraft and MLB team-specific hashtags, so that it's easy for folks to follow however they choose.

FanGraphs: Jeff will be joining our friends from FanGraphs for a Draft Night live chat. Feel free to stop in for additional insights and ask whatever questions you'd like about our numbers, our research, or [insert absolutely hilarious joke here].

CollegeSplits Blog: Check back here when the night is done for all of the evening's college picks in one handy-dandy list.

CollegeSplits Data: As a reminder, as has been the case for the last few months, you can also always check in over on our data site for every college player's raw stats, as well as context-adjusted stats, and a few sabermetric favorites. Of course, you're also able to check in via the sortable leaderboards, if that's what floats your boat.

Day 2 and Day 3

When the lights go down in Secaucus, we don't stop. Here's the plan for the rest of the draft:

CollegeSplits Blog: We'll use these electronic pages as the Mother Ship, so keep your eyes set here. We'll update picks round-by-round, so that the information becomes more manageable for you.

At the end of each day, we'll also organize picks by MLB team for all you blogging fools.

Finally, once Mr. Irrelevant gets his name called we'll get to work on a series of blog posts recapping the action. We'll take a look at every team's college selections, provide a player page for each, and include our context-adjusted batting, play-by-play-based fielding, and base running Runs Above Average for each player, and the overall RAR for each teams' picks with some discussion of a few of the more interesting items of note. We hope our baseball blogging brethren will find this useful for their post-draft pieces, as well.

This is truly three of the most fun days of the year. Can't wait to "see" you all tonight. Until then, we'll go back to scurrying around like rats on acid getting ready.

Washington Nationals, you're on the clock...
